The School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering (SPSPE) at The University of Akron (UA) seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor rank beginning in Fall 2023.
Position 1: Sustainable Manufacturing (Job ID: 13854)
The ideal candidate would develop an internationally recognized research program in the sustainable manufacturing of polymeric materials. Examples of specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, carbon-neutral processing methods, life-cycle assessment, data analytics, chemical modifications, in-situ characterization during manufacturing, and innovative manufacturing methods related to polymeric materials.
Position 2: Rheology (Job ID 13855)
The ideal candidates have research expertise and interests in experimental and/or computational rheology of polymers and complex fluids, polymer processing including additive manufacturing, and/or mechanics of soft matter.
